Custom Wood Type Letterpress Art Print

Customize your favorite message into a bespoke 8.5 x 11 art piece, designed from real antique letterpress type.

Our shop has an incredible collection of vintage wood type from the 1890s- 1950s! Each letter has its own rich history, and prints differently depending on the wood grain, amount of use, and typeface design.

Give me a quote, expression, phrase, or short saying, and I will design a custom poster just for you. I'll even provide a photograph of the wood type on press so you can see the process I used to create your piece, and email it along with your order!

How it works:
Send me a short phrase you'd like me to print (40 characters or less, please). You can fill out the order note at checkout or email me at [email protected]

Let me know if you have preferred fonts from the list below, or if you'd like me to create your design in my personal style. Please check for spelling and punctuation.

Choose your custom options-
Paper:
Cover weight 8.5 x 11 French Paper card stock.
Color choices are Navy, Kraft, Black, or White.

Ink:
Two classic colors of oil based ink, available in Black or Gold.

Font:
The text will be set in vintage, movable wood type and pressed into the paper with a medium impression.

Due to the nature of type -- wood grain, imperfections in the type's surface, and line weight may vary from the samples shown. This design process accentuates the handmade nature of the print, and is inextricably linked to letterpress printing as an art form.

Typefaces are available in the following sizes & designs:
Small: 4 Line : Cheltenham (upper & lower case)
Medium: 6 Line : Sans Serif, Gothic Condensed, Gothic Condensed Bold
Medium: 8 Line : Fat Face, Gothic Condensed, Tuscan, Shadow
Large: 10 Line : Gothic Condensed
